Okay,
I'm going to run the risk of dating myself here and mention a song that was popular when I was a little kid. It was called, "Take A Chance On Me" and was recorded by a band called ABBA. When you are a kid growing up in the sticks anything can strike you as cool and this song did. It has nothing spiritual about it but the title does speak to what we will study this week.
Barnabas took a chance on Paul. Or better, Barnabas was led by the Holy Spirit to seize a great opportunity. Really there are no chances only divine opportunities. You have a great one before you this week and I know by God's grace you will make the most of it.

What Good Can Come From Suffering?
Suffering is not my favorite topic to study, teach, and certainly to learn. For whatever reason, however, the passages that we are studying focus on suffering as a means of God showing His grace and bringing about eternal good. Please have that on your minds and hearts as you prepare for this weeks session. I hope that you will be blessed to study and teach this week.
Notes for 2/24/09
Afflictions are light when compared with what we really deserve. They are light when compared with the sufferings of the Lord Jesus. But perhaps their real lightness is best seen by comparing them with the weight of glory which is awaiting us.

How Far Will You Go For The Truth? Notes 2/17/10
How far are you willing to go to proclaim the truth? This week we will learn about Stephen who gave everything he had to show the way to Christ. He was a deacon but not like any other. I hope that the Lord will use this passage in a mighty way to challenge both you and your students.
Notes 2/17/2010
John Piper has written a poem about Stephen that might be an encouragement to you and your students. It can be found here: Stephen - by John Piper
Don't forget training tomorrow night!!!

"Whether faith or repentance goes first, however, I am sure that repentance is of such importance that there is no being saved without it."
