First Study of the Year 9/02/09

Welcome Back,

Its hard to believe that the summer is almost over. It seems like it has flown by so quickly. Well with school approaching, its time to get ready for the 09/10 Refinery year.

Let me welcome those of you who are new to the blog. I hope that you find it useful and informative. Remember that all major announcements will be made here. If in doubt check here first. Also, the notes that you will need to teach your students will also be found here.

I wanted to go ahead and give you all plenty of time to prepare for your first meeting in the host homes which will be on September 2nd. Here are the notes that you will be teaching from that evening: Notes for 9/02/09. This lesson is entitled, "What is the Bible and why should we study it?" It should take about 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Make sure that you take the opportunity to use time in this first meeting to get to know one another. A creative game or skit is in order here. We will discuss some ideas at out first leadership training.

Speaking of which...Refinery Leaders Orientation will be August 21st at 6:00pm at Providence. This meeting is mandatory. We will also be taking care of all your paperwork at this meeting so please be there at all costs.

Refinery Kick-Off is Wednesday, August 26th at 7:00pm. This is also mandatory. You will meet your students and their families for the first time this evening.

I am excited about the upcoming year and I look forward to seeing you all on the 21st.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Mike
